How do I set up Dynamic Number Insertion (DNI) for my website?




Dynamic Number Insertion is a great tool for tracking and recording specific data for the incoming phone calls generated by your website. With DNI you can automatically collect information about the person calling, how they found your website, what pages they visited, their location, etc. The real benefit is the ability to target web prospects with specificity, send your prospects messages based on their interests and help your sales team to better understand their potential customer.

To use Dynamic Number Insertion (DNI) on your website you need to have ActiveDEMAND tracking script or WordPress plugin installed. You can find the instructions for it here:

If you are already using it, no extra script is required.


To create a pool in ActiveDEMAND follow this steps:

Step 1: Go to Assets = Call Tracking Numbers. Choose the [Dynamic Number Insertion tab]

Step 2: Edit the Pool Properties:

Add the number(s) you currently have on your website and edit the conditions for replacement:

How do I set up DNI for my website?


DNI pool can replace multiple numbers and you can have several DNI groups.


Step 3: Edit the Dynamic Number Insertion Pool to the right of the page by clicking “ADD TRACKED NUMBER”. You need to have at least 3 numbers per a DNI pool to dynamically replace static phone numbers on your website.

When the setup in ActiveDEMAND is finished, numbers will automatically change according to the conditions you added before.
