How do I embed a form on my website?

Only External Webforms Can Be Exported - The only type of form that can be exported is an "External Web Form". If the form you want exists in an ActiveDEMAND landing page, you can clone the form you want to export. The landing page form will be cloned as an External Web form.

Designing/Creating a Web Form

In ActiveDEMAND, navigate to Assets->Web Forms. Note, Web Forms are only available in the Small Business Marketing package and above. Design the Web Form using the drag and drop editor. This also applies to Multi-Page forms.

If you have created a web form (known as an 'external web form' in ActiveDEMAND) using the '+New External Web Form" button in the Assets->Web Forms section of the product, the form editor will give you the option to export the form's HTML code.

Embedding The Web Form on a website (Not Using WordPress)

You will need to have ActiveDEMAND's tracking script on the website. See this article. Once you have the script on your pages, you can embed any ActiveDEMAND webform right on your website. In the Web Form editor in ActiveDEMAND, you have two options, HTML Export and Short Code Export.





With the HTML Export, you get full control over the CSS and style of the form on the site but you lose the ability to 'pre-fill' the form with dynamic content. Using the Short Code export, all styles are done in the form builder and the form is dynamically injected when the page renders. In both cases, you click the button and copy/paste HTML, and paste it into your 'external' website.

Embedding The Web Form on a website (Using WordPress)

If you are using WordPress, it is strongly recommended that you use the ActiveDEMAND WordPress plugin. This will automatically add the tracking script to your website and give you the ability to use shortcodes to embed Web Forms on your pages. After designing your Web Form in ActiveDEMAND, use the following shortcode format on your web pages/posts/sidebars/popups, etc.

Follow the instructions on the WordPress plugin settings page to properly set up the plugin:



The WordPress plugin adds a button to the visual editor within WordPress. This gives you instant access to the shortcodes for every web form configured in ActiveDEMAND



The WordPress Plugin allows you to do all of your form stylings right in ActiveDEMAND. If you want to do the form styles in WordPress instead, check this checkbox on the WordPress plugin settings page:
