Can I use a different domain for sending emails than my website?

Yes! The process is a little different depending on if you are setting up a new account or changing it in an existing account.

This is a great option for companies who's website might be MyCompany.com but they send marketing or notification emails from an @MyCompany-Notifications.com email address.

New Accounts

If you are just setting up your new account, we will use whatever email you enter in the field below as the default email address to send emails from.



Then you will need to set three CNAME records. If you go to Administration > Account Settings, then scroll down to Account Setup - you will see a "View Whitelabeling" button.



Clicking that button will open a new tab that has several CNAME records. The records enclosed in the boxes below are specific to sending emails.



You will need to add those three CNAME records to the DNS settings in the domain name you use for sending emails. Using the example from the beginning of this article - these need to be set in MyCompany-Notifications.com NOT MyCompany.com.

Note: The CNAME records generated in your account are unique. Do NOT copy the CNAME records shown in the screenshots.

If you do not see these CNAMEs here after you have setup your default marketing reply email, please email engage@activedemand.com for support.

Existing Accounts

You can also change this email at a later time under Administration > Account Settings:



Once you have updated your default marketing reply email address, you will need to send an email to support@leadintuition.co.uk so that support can change the email domain on your account.

Once you have heard back from support that this is done, you will then be instructed to add the three CNAME records enclosed in the boxes below.

That's it! You should be sending emails from a different domain name now.
